hawkins gift finder with great price options

I love Hawkin Bazaar as it's packed with many wondrous gifts that I want for myself. This means its easy to find some great gift ideas for all your friends and family. Their price ranger is brilliant with some very cheap gifts available they allow you to search for gifts under 50p. It's ideal for buying stocking fillers and secret santa gifts for everyone you know.

It's a great place to buy presents for the whole family.

So what's the secret santa thing all about?

Its been about for a few years and has increased in popularity as more people have heard of it.

You put all the names in a hat and everyone pulls out a name and that's who they buy a gift for. It's a good way of avoiding having to buy everyone in the office or works a gift - as instead you buy just one small gift for one person - as does everyone else.

It's great when you're on a budget and as times get harder cutting back on spending gets more prevalent then you'll find this fun way of gift giving will be more popular.

How to organise it - simple, just ask everyone where you work if they think it's a good idea and then write everyones name on a bit of paper - put them in a tin and get everyone together to pull out a name. Everyone should have a name to pull out - if they don't you've done it wrong! Double check you've got the right number of names and with people with the same forename put an initial or surname on to make it easy to know who's buying for who.

The idea is for the gift to be within price limits - usually £5 or £10 - but this has to be agreed. Then the gifts are wrapped by the person who buys them and clearly labeled. You then distribute the gifts before Christmas and everyone has to open them in front of each other.

Secret Santas are great fun - you can spend as much time as you want picking out something silly or funny or mad! But as long as the limit on the price is stuck to it's a very fair way of gift buying. It's also funny when you have to think about buying gifts for people who you don't know very well. It's also good for morale as everyone gets a pressie at Christmas and no one feels left out!

Secret Santas have been mentioned in popular TV shows like House where Dr House is the only recipient of the secret santa he's planned, and in Friends episode - 'The One with Chandler in a Box' which involves the friends negotiating who to have for their secret santas whilst Chandler is depressed about splitting up with his girlfriend and is stuck in a large box.
Secret Santa gift exchange was featured in the epidode 'Tis the Fifteenth Season of The Simpsons. Fans of the obsessive genius Monk will also remember an episode with a secret santa. It was also seen in the Christmas special episode of The Office!

Camper van mugCamper Van Mug - this is really cute and would go down really well with someone who loves those camper vans.

Ideal office gift too - as people always like to have a nice mug at work and one which is clearly theirs!

Snake Cube

This is a new twist on the traditional rubics cube. Great fun to play with a real challenge for the boffins!

sweet reindeer pooper
Sweet dispensing reindeer. You know what it does! You press Oh Deers back and watch as it deposits a jelly bean out of the rear end
This is a magic Christmas tree that'll work for even the least green fingered person on the planet - Stand the 15cm card tree in the dish, add the 'magic' solution and watch the green 'woolly' crystals grow

The 15cm card tree stands in the small dish provided, into which the 'magic' solution is poured. Within a few hours there will be evidence of the tree starting to grow and within 24 hours it will be covered in thick green 'woolly' crystals. The crystals are very fragile but will last almost indefinitely as long as they remain undisturbed. An essential for any Christmas stocking.

noisy balloons Flying saucer balloons - probably the most annoying gift to give as they're noisy but well fun! Balloons that spin around and emit a loud screeching sound

An economic way to buy larger quantities of the Flying Saucers for larger parties and gatherings.

Stylish automatic pencil sharpener. Simply insert pencil into the top and watch it get sharpened!

80s quizSo You Think You Know The 80s is a nostalgic book in question and answer format - ideal for the office know it all!

The influence of the 80s is everywhere at the moment, with many who were young during that era now re-living their childhood. This quiz-style book brings back plenty of memories. Presented as a list of questions (divided into sections) covering television, music and other popular culture and affairs of the time. Answers are in the back. What was Bruce Willis' character called in Moonlighting? How many Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were there? And which soft drink was 'too orangey for crows?' Compulsive entertainment.

Top Drunks is the ultimate drinking game - could be fun at the office party!

An ingenious drinking game version of the popular Trumps format. Cards feature drunken stereotypes such as Hayley Burberry (Chav) and Pat Slapper (Holiday Maker) as well as some shamelessly familiar faces; can you guess who Courtney Winohouse or Winston Burphill might refer to? Even poor old Father Christmas makes an appearance. Characters are scored in five categories including 'Favourite Tipple', 'Medical Record' and 'Party Trick', allowing cards to be won or lost in the usual way. 'Dirty Pint' forfeit cards (very nasty) have been added to create a drinking game, although these can easily be removed for the teetotallers version. Cutting grown-up humour for the pub or dinner parties.

Mr grassheadMr Grasshead - Water the head and watch grass sprout like green hair, which can then be trimmed and styled

I love this! Another great office plant that will be easy to look after and give you hours of fun!

Umbrella Hat - An ideal hat for when you can't easily hold an umbrella.

A fun gift for everyone!
